Dog Hides in Bushes for Weeks Before Finally Beginning to Trust Her Foster Family

Putri was completely emaciated and hairless when she was found starving and roaming around a temple in Bali, Indonesia. Thankfully, Mission Paws’ible rescued her because she wouldn’t have lasted much longer. Putri spent two weeks at the veterinarian but she was completely terrified of people so her rescuers thought she would do better in a foster home. They reached out to Kelly to ask her if she would take the dog in and she did. But the first thing Putri did was run into the bushes in her yard and refused to come out.

Kelly left food out for Putri. Then she tried to get the dog to eat out of her hand. But if she looked at Putri the dog would run back into the bushes. After three weeks Kelly worried what Putri would do when she saw her dogs. But one morning she saw Putri wagging her tail and playing with her dogs. From there Putri began to trust her foster family. Putri really began to open up when she began to go for walks. Kelly says that’s when she really began to build up her confidence. Now Putri waits at the door for Kelly when she comes home and loves getting pets and hugs every night. What an incredible difference love makes!
