A dog on a walk with her mom decided to have some impromptu fun by slipping away from her mom to take a plunge in a nearby fountain. Jose H. was one of the entertained onlookers who recorded the happy dog splashing about in the Praza do Ferro in Ourense, Spain as her mom tries to convince her to get out.
The dog is named Vela and her mom, Anina Castilla Pelaéz, later told the Dodo she was on her way to visit a friend’s café near their home when Vela made a dash for the fountain. The crowd in the square was delighted by Vela’s antics. But as fountains are off limits to dogs, Anina decided the quickest way to get Vela out of the water was to jump in after her.
Anina later told the Dodo, “She left very happy because people were cheering her on. I don’t think she was sorry.”
