Newfoundland dogs are renowned as powerful swimmers and have been used as water rescue dogs for many years. They are strong enough to be able to pull humans and boats to shore! There’s even a series of water rescue tests and classifications dedicated to enhancing and maintaining the breed’s water abilities.
But one-year-old Boss has a little ways to go when it comes to swimming. Apparently, swimming doesn’t come naturally to the 170-pound Newfie and he sinks in the water. So, it was time for swimming lessons.
