Flip’s mom was “absolutely shocked” when the young 9-week-old puppy loaded a group of sheep into a trailer all on his own—without any training. “I couldn’t believe it. It’s just not typical for Border Collies to do that at such a young age,” she said. “He started working with the sheep purely out of instinct. He’s a natural.”
Flip, being so tiny, would even find his way through the holes in the fence in order to herd the sheep. So mom started training him right away. Watch Flip in adorable action in the video below.
Mom says Flip’s training is going really well. She said, “He’s such a happy dog and a real superstar.” When Flip gets older, he’ll learn how to herd cattle. But for now, he’s sticking with sheep and ducks!
