The ABC News crew covering a story on the recent Texas tornado damage ended up rescuing a dog after they heard his cries.
Two members of the ABC News Crew’s security detail heard the cries coming from underneath one of the homes damaged by an EF1 tornado that killed one person and injured at least 11 others in the Rio Grande Valley region.
The crew called animal control, but instead of just waiting around, ABC sound technician Jim Gower got a shovel and started digging and soon a furry head popped out of the hole. The poor dog was so scared but patiently waited as rescuers dug him out from under the home’s foundation.
Thankfully, the dog did not appear injured and crawled out of the hole with some help from Gower and others. Here’s hoping the dog was reunited quickly with his family.

Abby, Noah and Mary are “triplet” cockapoos born with deformed legs and other severe issues because of backyard breeding/inbreeding. Noah was born without eyes. All three puppies were malnourished and couldn’t walk when they were saved by K9 Lives Plus Rescue, but luckily their rescuers nursed them back to health and helped them thrive. All…
Paul Flynn was taking his dog Daisy for a walk through Durham city centre when the sheepdog in training stopped in her tracks. There, in front of her, was a 25 foot tall sheep. What’s a poor sheepdog to do? Stand up bravely and try to herd it of course. Flynn says the giant sheep…
