A six-month-old puppy is one lucky dog after she jumped out of the family’s car and into the path of an oncoming semi truck! The accident occurred when Ryan Cramer and his family were driving on a Los Angeles freeway and their puppy, Sophie, was sitting in the front seat.

He rolled the window to get some air when Sophie suddenly leapt out of the moving car. The pup tumbled right into oncoming traffic but managed to dash across the road to the shoulder. The terrifying moment was caught on their car camera’s dash cam.
Cramer immediately pulled to the side of the road and ran back to grab her. Sophie suffered a fractured hip but is expected to make a full recovery!

We’re so relieved Sophie is okay. It’s a strong reminder to be careful with dogs in the car. The safest thing to do is to make sure they are restrained in some way, whether that be a harness that can attach to a seatbelt, or in a crate/pet carrier.
